5070, info missing in WMS

Hi,

I have three Wyse 5070's, all on WES, that are showing in WMS with missing info. They all show offline, though they are up, and you can use VNC to remotely connect to them. The are also missing the Serial Number/Tag, and "Last User" info.

Things I have tried to resolve the issue:

- Unregister/Register (both from WMS & from WDA)

- Clear out the following in the CCMProtocolConfig.xml:  strip out the MAC Address, Owner ID, Wyse ID, Authentication Code and Group Key, save and reboot (while write filter was off)

- Re-image with newest Win 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC

- Re-image with original Win 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSC

*** When re-imaging, I also applied the steps above to each OS version.

Anyone know how to resolve the issue? WyseMissingInfo.PNG

I worked with support, and they were finally able to resolve it. It's quite a few steps, but I'll do my best to list & describe the as best as possible.

1. Log into WMS, locate device with missing info, the click on the Device Name to open its "Device Details" page.

2. Click, "Unregister" (upper right), the click, "Force Unregistration" in pop-up box, "Send Command"

3. One the same "Device Details" page, click the "More Actions" drop-down, and click Delete.

4. In the pop-up box, fill in a reason for deleting, then "Send Command".

5. Go back to the "Devices" tab (where all of the devices are listed), change the "Status" drop-down to "Not Registered". The Wyse you just deleted should be listed.

6. Check the box, next to said device, then click the "More Actions" drop-down, and select "Delete"

7. In the pop-up box, again fill in a reason for deleting and "Send Command"

8. Rebooted said Wyse

9. Once rebooted, go back to WMS > Dashboard, and you should see a "1" next to "Enrollment Pending" (far right of page). Click on it to open it up & your device should be listed, and the serial number should be showing as well.

10. Check the box for said device, the click "Validate Enrollment". In pop-up, click "Send Command".

11. Go to the "Devices" tab, if necessary, use the search field (upper right) and find your device.

12. Check the box for said device, click the "More Actions" drop-down, then "Change Group" and move it to the correct group.

The above steps resolve my issue with the missing Serial Number, & Last User. I hope this helps you and anyone else in the future.

I had same experience.  It's an acknowledged bug that DELL said they would fix but they never did.  It happens when your device re-registers and the information doesn't line up perfectly, like it uses another MAC address to register than it did the time before.

If you're missing information for a Dell Wyse 5070 in WMS (Wyse Management Suite), here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Update WMS: Make sure that you have the latest version of WMS installed. Check the Dell website to see if there are any updates available for WMS, and download and install them if necessary.

Check connectivity: Verify that the Wyse 5070 device is properly connected to the network and is able to communicate with the WMS server. Check the network settings on the device to ensure that it is properly configured.

Check device information: Verify that the device information is correctly entered into WMS. Check the device inventory in WMS to ensure that the device is properly registered and that all the required information is filled out.
