Wyse V50L, mDNS, and .local DNS names
Wyse V50L, mDNS, and .local DNS names
We've got a bunch of V50Ls that are working great in our environment, with one caveat: we cannot properly use DNS because of our internal AD domain name - it ends in .local , and thus mDNS breaks it. (That's my presumption, hard-coded IPs work and alternate DNS names work, so I'm pretty confident of that. Pretty much every Linux seems to come with mDNS turned on these days...)
While I'm certain I could SSH to each device and disable mDNS, I'm looking for a way I can set it up with DHCP options or FTP-based INI file changes, so that (like all the other settings) it's automatic when a new Wyse gets plugged in.
I've been over the Admin guide a couple of times and seen nothing there, and Googled around multiple times and found nothing there either.
Anybody already solved this problem, or got any ideas ?
Thanks,

Guess not. I really hate hard-coded IP addresses or non-standard DNS names, but I do realize that *.local is also a non-standard DNS name.
