T50 network link resetting

T50 network link resetting

Hello, I recently was asked to configure a Wyse T50 device. The machine starts with no problems, however in the process to acquire DHCP address the interface (eth0) keeps resetting and renewing the DHCP address. I attempted to set a fix IP address and it seems to stay up and connected at 1gb FD speed. However I am not able to ping out of the device.
Any advice will be appreciated. My device information is the following

Platform T50
Build 20120203-0_u-1.037
Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
OS version 2.6.32.217-hedly

I am not able to pull the syslog output however some of the errors I noticed in the logs are the following:
error : nm-device-ethernet real_update_permanet_hw_address () (eth0) unable to read permanent MAC address (error 0)
NetworkManager bluez error getting default adapter
networkManager : trying to start supplicant

I just wanted to update my own posting. although the network people at my location told me that the device was included in the ignore list for the monitoring and security software I was not able to ping or connect to any other server. Once the network guys made some changes to the port in the switch (I dont know what changes) I was able to have full connectivity to other servers. However one thing I am still trying to figure out is about DHCP. When the T50 acquires an IP address it releases itself after few seconds and keeps looping over and over. any suggestions or recommendations. At this point the device is out of the monitored network.
