New T50 - Linux
New T50 - Linux
Hey All,
Very new to thin clients and just wondering if I am doing something stupid. Our company just purchased four new T50s. When I turn them on I just get a screen with two lines that read something 'last saved state of serial devices' and then a totally black screen. It never does anything else. Is this supposed to happened. I have not messed with the boot configs or anything after holding the 'P' key after turning the device on. I just thought out of the box these things should boot into the Ubuntu Home Screen ! Am I wrong?
Thanks,

We had a similar problem when using a different DVI to VGA adaptor than the one shipped with the device - if you're not using an adaptor but instead running straight to the monitor, it could be an incompatibility there?
EDIT:
To clarify, we were able to see all POST messages and able to enter both P key setup and WLoader setup (boot holding Del), but after the message about serial devices it all went blank.

You were 100% correct. That's exactly what happened. I spoke to our Network Admin and said he had had the same problem. I switched out with the one that came with it and all worked fine.
Thank you for the info. What's really weird is that WYSE tech support (3 different ones ) didn't even mention that. Slack if you ask me.

Excellent, glad to help - the tech support seem very hit and miss!
