Addons installation on T50 from FTP

Addons installation on T50 from FTP

My fellow Wyse-ians (and any other variation you prefer),

We have several T50's currently running the 1.018 Ubuntu OS. I've updated two of them to the recently release 1.027, using a USB flash drive for booting.

We were hoping to determine how to use either FTP or WDM (or combination) to push the image (DCHP options specify working FTP and WDM instances), but we could not determine a working configuration. Once updated via USB, the two upgraded devices did pull most of the Addons from the FTP server, but, strangely, not all. In particular, we're eager to install the new FireFox addon provided for 1.027, but this is one of the Addons that doesn't get installed. It's as if a few addons simply get ignored, even when listed in the "directory" file in the Addons folder, and in the wlx.ini file.

Does anyone have any insights or suggestions on this for us? As I said, we're very eager to use the FireFox addon if possible.

Thanks very much for any help that can be provided!

I've had some success installing as an addon - on the downloads page there is an addon version of the firmware update, then use that as a normal addon to deploy it remotely.
Seems to work, but not great on giving the user feedback if they happen to be using it! :/

Try adding the following line to your wlx.ini file:
NewAddons=firefox-addon_120+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1_armel.deb

I'm not sure if you need the extension or not.
