WYSE T10 Keyboard and Mouse stops responding

Hi,

We have 150 WYSE T10's in our environment running firmware version "8.0-210 " we have had an issue recently with Terminals that stop responding to mouse and keyboard until they are powered off for a period of time and also others that give an error on Boot "  USB: First query Device desc Fail"  these will not work until power cycled as well.

We have multiple site all connect to a single ftp server handing the same version of firmware to all.

should we be updating our firmware?

Brettdug,

I would recommend that you update only a couple of your thin clients (the ones giving you the most problems) and verify that the update resolves the problem before you do a massive upgrade.

Thanks,

We would normall sandbox firmware upgrades before rolling out to users, but because this is a problem we are only seeing on a very few units I was hoiping someone would have a firmware/software version that is stable. Although this version has been stable until now.

Maybe just roll back the unit as are have issues with for starters?

any feedback welcomed :)

Hi mate,

This is a known issue with T10s.

I have been trying to address this problem in my company for many months but it is very difficult to track down, it happens randomly and we cannot reproduce it despite having hundreds of clients.

We have tried many different firmware versions and found 8.0_512_HotFix the most stable. I find the more recent the firmware the worse the issue.

Please let us know if you managed to find out any specific condition where your thin clients lose connectivity with peripherals, it may help others to troubleshoot this problem.

Regards,

Hi,

I have been testing the latest (8.3_011) firmware on T10 thin clients for the last week.

Our IT Support team can see significant improvement if it comes about issues with not responding USB devices, however, the issue is still there.

Please note, this problem was much more severe in 8.1_xx firmware but DID NOT start to happen from 8.1_xx - it was already there in previous versions.

Wyse/ Dell engineering team needs to keep working on this problem as it has serious impact on the business I work for. We have 1,2k of Wyse thin clients and the problem appeared only when we started to roll out T10s.

Thanks for your help
