Panic: system out of heap

Greetings,

Let me premise with the fact that I do not have a lot of experience with Wyse & TC's however I have been asked to assist one of our customers with D10D TC's.

Some of the thin clients are tossing out the following error "Panic: out of system heap". That is followed by machine and firmware info, IP address, then a core dump message

What does "heap" stand for and would anyone know what would produce that message. One interesting thing is that these systems are in schools and the error generats overnight while class is not in session.

Thanks in advance.

Fillmorel:

This error message is caused by a system failure which can be addressed by our Technical Support. These types of issues are normally the result of an upgrade to your system (application, server, etc.) and requires an update of the thin client firmware.

If you have software maintenance, you (or your customer) can access the firmware through the Self-Service portal at www.wyse.com/kb and follow the instructions available in the "Self-Service Center FAQ" link on the left. Please note that you need to have your company registered and a Software Maintenance (SM) for all your thin clients to be able to download the firmware.

If you do not have SM, you can contact Dell Wyse at 1-800-800-9973 option 1 for more information.

Hello everyone.

I'm running 5070 thins with ThinOS 8.5 and 8.6 firmware and most if not all are freezing or causing the panic heap memory errors.  Are there any other clients out there with any issues?
