 Workaround to install WDM 4.8.5 mmc on 2008 R1 SP2 Datacenter?

Hi,

I have a requirement to install the WDM gui console on a 2008 R1 SP2 Datacenter box.
It's the terminal services server for our engineers support tools.

4.8.5 is only supported on 2008 R1 SP1 and will not install on SP2.

Can anyone suggest a workaround I have tried fudging it but with no joy.
