WDM Workgroup Edition - suggested SQL Server?

Hi there,

Fairly new to WDM and working within a test environment but moving towards production. I read the installation guide for WDM 4.9.1 and one note for this version is as follows:

- Ignore all custom SQL Server information in this guide (you must use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (32-bit) which WDM installs by default).

Is it necessary to use the local DB that comes with the WDM install or would it be fine to have our DB admin set one up instead? I'm more concerned about corruption or if there happens to be a server re-install.
