XPS 13 9380, goes dark when entering user account

A regular day on the XPS 13 9380 when suddenly mid-browse my computer went dark. I have no idea what happened. 

Now my computer boots and starts up fully, I get to the login screen and can get into my user account, but as soon as I do I am faced with a black screen. I can see my cursor, but nothing else. The Windows button does not work, it's like all my installed applications and information are gone so I am stuck here unless McAfee pops up. 

When McAfee automatically opens I can click on it to renew my subscription and a Chrome pop-up comes up with a browser and my Chrome profile and bookmarks. So clearly my data is still here, but I cannot access it. 

What is going on and how can I fix this?
