Windows XP loading
Dear all,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me, this is the first time this has ever occured to me, and i dont know what to do. When i start my WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION, it shows the WINDOWS XP LOGO i.e the black screen and the WINDOWS XP name. What happens then is that i get a message showing the following:
"Winlogon.exe unable to locate component, this application has failed to start becasue SHELL32.DLL was not found. reinstalling the application may fix it"
I have the reinstallation CD with me, but how do i do this?
will i loose all my work?
please assist
i am using a dell machine.

You need to boot to your Windows XP disc to run the recovery console. If you post your system, I can point you to the instructions.
