Windows 11 G15 Laptop: Dell Firmware 0.1.7.0 - Release Notes

Are you kidding me?  Windows 11 wants to update the firmware (in my day, we called this the BIOS!)
And it says Install Now.   So... where are the RELEASE NOTES?  I ain't installin' nuthin' on this computer without release notes.  Does Windows 11 or Dell expect me to follow and install stuff like a sheep?  Windows 10, and earlier, had release notes and the letter (i) for INFORMATION on each Windows Update install.  Where are the release notes and information on this?  C'mon man!

Not a problem. For 1.7.0 the BIOS is here with release notes that state:

Fixes & Enhancements

- Improved the VBIOS version detection and update capability of the system.

However there is a newer BIOS version here 1.8.1 which states:

Fixes & Enhancements

Fixes:
- Firmware updates to address security vulnerabilities.
- Fixed the issue where the open applications on an external display are shown on the system display after the system resumes from Sleep state.
- Fixed the issue where the VPN stops working after the system resumes from Sleep state. This issue occurs when the system is connected to the Internet

What is the exact model number of your G15?

G15 model 5511

Sorry I didn't see your post right away - I changed my settings so I should get emails when posts are made to my threads.

My Windows 10 and Windows 7 systems both show (i) information icons - which allow users to read the summary and detailed release notes for Updates.

thanks -Dave
