Tips for Running Old PlayStation Games on Modern PCs
Hi everyone,
I’ve been exploring ways to play classic PlayStation 2 games on modern Windows PCs, and I ran into a few challenges with system compatibility and controller support. Since older games rely on console-specific system files, running them through emulators requires some setup that can be confusing for beginners.
While researching solutions, I found a helpful site that explains how to properly set up PS2 emulators and handle BIOS files to make the games run smoothly: https://ps2biosonline.com/
I’m curious if anyone here has tried running PS2 or other retro console games on Dell PCs. Are there specific system settings, drivers, or configurations that make emulation run better on modern hardware? Any suggestions or tips would be really appreciated!

While I don't have a Dell as my personal laptop (shocker maybe lol), the gold standard when it comes to PS2 emulators that I found has been PCSX2. I use this on my personal ASUS G14 and it works like a charm. Just follow the guides and its honestly very easy to set up. I can then just use my dualsense controller via bluetooth and it works fine. You can also use controller translation software like DS4Windows to make an xbox controller function as a PS2 one. Overall, PS2 emulation is very easy to achieve nowadays with even older hardware. I don't suspect that you should run into any hardware specific issues for having a Dell. I'd take a look at the PCSX2 system requirements and you can see that it doesn't need much to function. The more cores the better is the takeaway.
