Syncibg email programs?

Hello Everyone, I recently bought a small Dell laptop, a Inspiron 3180, that I wanted as a back up to my desktop which lately seems to spend more time in the computer shop than with me. On my desktop I use Windows Live Mail and I would like to know how, or if, I could sync that with the laptop that uses Windows 10 as it's OS? Please keep in mind that I'm a dummy when it comes to computers. Thanks

These are just a few of the tutorial available on how to use One Drive.

As far a syncing your computers. When you installed windows 10 should have set up a Microsoft Account So you would use that Microsoft account on both or as many computers as you want to have sync to each other

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5440-add-local-account-microsoft-account-windows-10-a.html This tutorial will show you how to set up a Microsoft Account. You will need this same account on all computers that you want to sync.

The Advice I can give with MS Account is that as any user account you have to use the exact same user name and Password. IE Clinton J Wright is not the same as Clinton J. Wright.

The Windows ten forum I linked you too can be very helpful with windows 10 issues.

I have MS Account on my computer however I don't use them. I use Local Accounts and Manually sync and data that  I need to have on all computers which if very little, as each computer I have has its own purpose not related to the others.

I use MS Office 2013 so I use Outlook for my email. they MS email accounts I use about 7 actually do all sync across all computers since they all work through the MS Exchange server. So I can't help much with your email issue. I just assume that if you use the same MS Account on all computer that MS mail that you are using would also be going through the MS Exchange Server and sync across all computers using that MS Account.

On backing up, I have used several programs over the years. The backup program built into Windows 10 is not reliable. I have ended up using Macrium Reflect, I use the paid for program however the Free program will allow you to make Disk/SSD Images and differential backup. Since 2012 I have never had a failure to restore a backup image or File and folder back up. I can not say the same for any of the other programs I have tried. Here is a tutorial https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/61026-backup-restore-macrium-reflect.html  the free version doesn't come with tech support however this tutorial will show you how to use the program and you can ask a question in that tutorial and someone will help you quickly.

Sure, just log both on to your Microsoft Account then you can sync desktop whatever set up one drive it will show up as a hard drive on both computers.

Yes, Windows 10 is the same on all computers, some smaller computers with touch screen can be set to use tablet mode. Some like mine are 2in 1, so If I want to go to tablet mode and use my screen as you would tablet or as I use it as a small notebook computer.

I would be backing up to an External Hard drive, computers fail external hard drives fail also but less often. Since they're in use only a few minutes each day or less however often your back up.

Hi Clint, First I want to thank you for your quick reply. I need to apologize for my illiteracy about computers, but when you said in your reply, " just log both on to your Microsoft Account then you can sync desktop whatever set up one drive it will show up as a hard drive on both computers", would it be okay if I asked you how I can do that? Then I have another question about backing up my info. Thanks again
