Roll back to 23H2 on Inspiron 5515?

After getting tired of my Bluetooth speakers and headphones not connecting on Win11 24H2, I asked Microsoft about it. They said it's a known problem, and recommended rolling back to 23H2. However, MS only allows a rollback within 10 days of the update, and I updated from 23H2 to 24H2 last November.

Here's what MS then recommended: Clean Installation of 23H2. You can perform a clean installation of Windows 11 23H2 using a bootable USB drive. However, Microsoft no longer officially provides the 23H2 ISO, so you may need to obtain it from your device manufacturer or a trusted archive.

I'm not sure how to do that though on my laptop. I know I have some tools in hidden partitions:

  • 990 MB WINRETOOLS
  • 14.02 GB IMAGE
  • 1.36 GB DELLSUPPORT

Do I use any of these to restore my Windows 11 OS without losing my files and installed programs? If so, could someone point me in the right direction for instructions? Since my warranty is long since expired, Dell won't help me. I only want to roll back the OS, not wipe and do a factory reset of my hard drive.

Hi

Quite a few possibilities come to mind...

Can you / Have you tried to remove the drivers etc for the bluetooth audio etc.  Reboot and use older drivers?  IE: Roll-Back only that part of your install.

Shrink your W11 Partition and MOVE your data into the space by making a separate partition, D: or similar.  Then any subsequent re-install wont wipe your data, UNLESS you are doing a FACTORY FRESH, and that is when your backups come into play.

Obviously there is a bit of a list....

but I think a suitable download is there, and make your own .iso if necessary.
