Remove OEM Windows x64 and install x32

Is it possible to remove an oem install of Windows XP Professional x64 on a Precision 380 and install Windows XP Professional 32bit? When i try an install from the 32bit  CD the installer doesn't see any hard disks. I have tried FDISK and everything else.

download the drivers for your controller from the support.dell.com page and press F6 at bootup and add those drivers from a floppy.  The drives will then be recognized.

If you boot from the cd, assuming you'll wipe the x64 install, it doesn't see the drives?

Boot from the CD and delete all partitions.
