Problems with Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG software..

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but its the best fit i found. My wireless software is making my computer randomly crash. I restarted it after the first time and a critical error message came up and told me that's what caused it. I'm not quite sure what to do, my dad is usually my tech support but its late, haha. i downloaded a driver from the dell website that he sent me a link to, but once i downloaded and unzipped it it said it wasnt compatible with my OS. any suggestions would be very appreciated. thanks.
