Problem with Windows 11 update
Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1
I have a Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2in1 and after a Windows 11 update a couple of weeks ago my headphones would not work when plugged into the laptop. The setting showed the correct icon when they were plugged in however the sound would come through the laptop speakers. There was no change to the setting that I could make that made any difference. So I went and restored my system back to where it was prior to the update and at the same time sent a msg thru to Microsoft concerning the issue. I rec’d notification of a new update a week ago that a new Windows update was available so today I updated….. and yep you guessed it, the same thing happened. So I have once again reset my system back to where it was prior to the update and I am now on this forum to see whether anyone else has had the same or similar issue and what if anything fixed it.

I didn't face such issue in my laptop. My headphones is working properly. You can do one think, update your system's outdated drivers using any software or manually if you are technically good.

Thanks for your response. I will look into the drivers, however the laptop is only 6 months old and the drivers are regularly updated at this stage. Thanks again.

If your system is like other Dell systems, it needs the Waves MaxxAudio Pro utility to tell it what you plugged in. Do you have that utility on your system?
If you do, go to the advanced menu and see if the notify for plugins is enabled.
If you don't have that utility, you will need to install if it is on your download site or uninstall Realtek audio and reinstall to get it.
