Problem with some content

hello.

It happened to one of my computers. Microsoft Excel 2016 won't start, gives error 'We found a problem with some content in FileName.xls'.

I have already tried to reinstall Excel but i keep getting this error.

what could have caused this error?

Right-click the file. In the drop-down menu click "Properties." If "Read Only" is checked, click on it to uncheck it. I'm pretty sure if you do this with a folder it will remove the "R/O" from all files in the folder.

Also here are several links about how to repair xls format files:

The main reason behind getting the “We found a problem with some content in FileName.xls” error is the system file corruption. So you can try to repair the corrupted Excel workbook.

And to recover the data make the Excel workbook read-only

  • Open Excel workbook in ‘read-only’ mode > try copying its entire contents.
  • Now create a new workbook > paste the entire contents from the corrupted file to the new file.

Hope doing this will help you to fix the error.

Hey, I'm facing a similar issue. Tried creating a new file by copying the contents from the corrupt file. But, unfortunately I'm facing the same issue on the newly created file as well. Please help.
