problem with pc restore

My Dell Inspiron 530 (running windows xp sp2) has gotten hit hard with a virus.  I decided to use pc restore.  After I hit control F11, the pc restore by symantec screen does come up, but I can't activate the restore button (the mouse doesn't work in this mode. Only the reboot button works.  I checked in the system settings and the restore is not disabled.  Don't know what to do.

Thanks for any input, BDWeller

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

The mouse *should* work?  But try it again using the 'Tab' key - or arrow keys, to switch between the options?

If/once it switches to the option you want (i.e. the 'Restore' button), hit Enter?

If it is a wireless mouse, use a usb mouse.

If it is a USB mouse use one of the usb ports next to the ethernet port on the back.
