Lose WiFi Driver when upgrade to Windows 11
XPS 8930
I have tried to upgrade my Dell XPS 8930 (purchased Dec 2019) 3 times and each time there is no WiFi Driver following the upgrade. So I have had to roll back to Windows 10.
I ensured that my Dell XPS8930 had all current Dell specific updates for this machine and Microsoft updates loaded.
I rechecked that this machine is capable of running Windows 11 and has the required TPM.
I ran scannow to ensure no file corruptions.
I reset my network.
I did the clean book as suggested by Microsoft and then re-installed Windows 11. When the same error occurred I did another network reset.
Sadly, no Wifi connection. I do have aforesaid connection on Windows 10. I believe that everything apart from the WiFi connection upgrades with Windows 11. But in Network Settings in Windows 11 all that comes up are Bluetooth and Ethernet connections. Those drivers appear. But the driver for the WiFi doesn't. My XPS 8930 uses a Killler Wirelsess n/a/ac 1535 Wireless/Bluetooth/Ethernet Adaptor. The last updates for this driver through Dell were in 2023. lMy house has no possibility of connecting to Ethernet. My broadband connection is very excellent at 270 Mbps.
What else can I do?
Do I need to speak to Dell? I am out of support due to the age of the machine but I may be able to buy support time. Or should I do to a local computer service person?
