Laptop asks for Bitlocker recovery key after latest update
Latitude 7480
Hi, I rebooted my Latitude 7480 tonight, and it made a firmware update apparently. The problem is that it is now asking for a bitlocker recovery key, which I never had. What I don't understand is that there was never any bitlocker on it, and that (consistently) it never asked me for such a thing. I tried several things, including going to earlier BIOS versions, but nothing helped so far... I read on Dell support that there is no bitlocker on laptop when they deliver them. If you have any idea, I'm very interested! Thanks a lot in advance,
Sebastian

Hi
Bitlocker is quite often enabled during the initial installation, sometimes without asking.
IF you have a Microsoft Account, when you first used the machine you may have created one, then it may be there.
EG:
BitLocker recovery keys
Device Name Key ID Recovery Key Drive Key upload date
LAPTOP-DELLE of the BALLE 111111- 395593-333333-448118-067903-166661-624217-6888888

My daughter bought a refurbished Dell 7480. It has new Windows 10 install on it. The first time windows update ran (according to her), It rebooted into Bitlocker recovery screen. Tried a bunch of stuf. Looking for someonce who has fixed this before.
