Kodak Easyshare software
Wife got a digital camera for Christmas and the Kodak software won't install on an E310 w/ Media Edition 2005, 2.8GHz P4, 512MB RAM. The installation stops after the first dialog box asking for language selection--no error message, no further activity.
Went to Kodak web site to download latest software and got a self-extracting file that won't extract--it stops at the same point the CD installation does.
Kodak's support can thus far only suggest closing all running applications before installing--which I had already tried with no success.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Use the "System Restore" function and restore the PC to a date/time PRIOR to first trying to install the software. Temporarily turn off antivirus and then try the install again with the provided CD.
I upgraded my EasyShare recently and if I remember correctly, you must be on-line to do the install as it only downloads an "installation program" and then gets the actual program data from the Kodak web site.

Kodak finally decided they don't support their software on Media Center Edition, so I gave up on it.
Have had issues with other software on Media Center also. Anyone else? And why is that the case for software that works fine on XP Home and Pro?
Yeah, pedal steel is great, but I'm a dobro man.
