I am Unable to open .dat file

Hi
Many .dat files are used internally by applications and may not be meant to be opened or edited manually.
However if you know the content/context you may be able to open with Notepad or VLC.
Take a copy and change .dat to .txt or .mp3 etc etc.
You post is quite brief and gives no real info on what you have tried, or where the file originated.
