Huge bug

(1) I can't change the appearance of an icon on my desktop.  Left click on icon, then click Properties, Customize, Change Icon, and Browse.  When I click Browse, I get a message saying Windows Explorer has stopped working, and then a help note saying something about a Data Executable program.   There was no such problem in Win XP Home.

(2)  Same thing happens when I try to customize a system sound.  I click Browse and just watch it crash.

(3) Notepad.  I open it, write a note to myself, and when I want to save the resulting .TXT file, I click "Save As".  The document then turns pale, my cursor turns into a Please Wait (hourglass) icon, and absolutely nothing happens.
