how to stop Word 365 from pointing to onedrive when I save a new file

I would like to completely remove onedrive from Windows 11.  Such as stopping Word 365 (and others) from pointing to onedrive when I save and remove onedrive from file explorer so documents appears under desktop where it has been for decades.

I have searched the web for hours and even paid a local technician without success.

Thanks

Jerry

If you are using Windows 11, select Settings =>  System =>  Storage =>  Advanced storage settings =>  Where new content is saved.  Under the category New documents will save to, click on the pull down tab and select the local disk which you want users files to be saved.  Click on apply to execute the settings.  Select and perform the same process for each category of file types such as music, photo, videos, movies, and offline maps.

For Windows 10, it will be the same process with a slightly different settings path.

@Chino de Oro Sorry but it already is set to save to the C: drive.  I want it saved to Documents on the C: drive not to Onedrive on the C: drive.  It takes an extra click to do this now on 365.  I am frustrated with having to click more than once to accomplish what I used to do in one click.
