Forgot User Admin password in Windows XP
It has been suggested that I try here to get an answer to my question. I have a Dimension 3000 running Windows XP. I have an admin account that allows me to update software and set security on my teenage son's user account. So there is my admin account and his user account. I forgot my password. Don't use it you lose it, right? I can't access it no matter what I do. I have tried:
Resetting the jumpers
Removing the battery from the motherboard
Ctrl-alt-delete twice to bring me to admin password, which I don't have, so don't know why someone gave me that advice
Entering in safe mode doesn't do anything either
My question is, is the password hidden somewhere where I can get it? Is there a way to clear it without setting up a whole seperate drive? That appears to be my next tedious step.
Any help would be of great appreciation.
Thanks,
Renee
