Exhausted by new Access Is Denied - edgesuite.net errors when trying to download drivers on support site

Recently I've been inundated with Access Is Denied errors after formatting drive C:, re-installing Windows, and then immediately heading over to download drivers.  I don't want to install Microsoft drivers, I want DELL drivers.  What's this nonsense about?  What rule am I violating?  I work on PC's for a living and it's exhausting.  I would enjoy an explanation.

Contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. This will also generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offerings.

Please see this post on Microsofts site. An "Access Denied" error from edgesuite.net indicates that the website has blocked your request. This is typically a security measure where your IP address or request is flagged as suspicious, often due to network issues, VPN usage, or strict security settings. Here are some things to try out, but you are looking at something related to your network:

  • Disable VPN or Proxy: Public VPNs and proxy servers are frequently flagged as sources of high-volume or malicious traffic.
  • Clear Browser Cache & Cookies: Corrupted browser data can trigger security checks. Clear your cookies and cache (set to "All time").
  • Use a Different Browser or InPrivate/Incognito Mode: If the site works in a different browser, the issue is with your primary browser's settings or extensions.
  • Switch Network: Try switching from Wi-Fi to a mobile hotspot. If it works, your home IP address may be temporarily blocked
