Dell XPS 15 7590; Secure Boot Enabled AND VT-D Enabled Windows 11 22H2!!!!!!!

XPS 15 7590

XPS 15 7590

There is another "Highly Active" thread and I am no longer able to post to it.   I have figured out how to enable Secure Boot and VT-D with Windows 11 22H2!!!

The secret is to install Window 11 then

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

This disable Microsoft's Hyper-V.    It also disables WSL  and Windows Sandbox.   It's not really Secure Boot or VT-D.   It's really Secure Boot or Hyper-V.

Why am I not able to post in the previous thread?

I think the replies on the old XPS 7590 22H2 issues threads are all locked.

Dell community censorship... the threads were always on the top most discussed and they don't like people complaining about recent premium extremely expensive laptop that doesn't fully support  22H2 and are not getting any fixes!

That’s not really a fix if you need Hyper-V and WSL2…

I had paused Windows updates on my XPS so it wouldn’t keep trying upgrading and failing, but today noticed I now have 22H2 upgrade coming soon with a link to a “Safeguard holds affecting your device” page.

I agree about censorship. I went thru this same type of for over 12 months with a brand new 7760, then replaced with a new 7760, then a 9710 XPS and then a 7770. I had to shut down my business for lack of reliable computer! Tech support stinks with Dell, and I don't believe their high-end gear is worth the money. It's not like the experiences I had 5-20 years ago. I now have a worthless $10,000 toy that makes me nervous every time I have to do any type of Dell update. Good luck.
