Dell Recovery Media isn't always best

Machine would not boot.  Dell Recovery Media on USB gave me access to Windows troubleshooting, but produced numerous error messages, no success, no boot.  

A commenter on Dell forum suggested downloading Windows 10 recovery media from Microsoft and booting from that.  It worked!  Files and apps were not saved but machine is running great.  I got the download here
