Dell G5 15 5500 RGB keyboard backlighting & lightbar not working

I've been experiencing this issue for a few months now with my Dell G5 15 5500 laptop, where my RGB keyboard backlighting and lightbar on the underside do not light up. This has been happening since the beginning of this year, and before that both worked fine. Sometimes when I leave the laptop to sleep for a while, the keyboard backlighting will briefly light up, so I don't think the problem lies within the hardware. Using the F10 key to turn on the lighting does nothing, and the lighting is already enabled in the BIOS. I'm on BIOS version 1.24.0, and I'm beginning to think these newer BIOS versions are causing this issue; I updated the BIOS a few times since the beginning of the year, so maybe 2021-2022 versions of the BIOS will fix the issue.
