@PSI1- The solution, which I shared with Dell and am now sharing here is:

I started with Windows 11 25H2 patched to 2025.11.11 updates.

Dell Display and Peripheral Manager 2.1.2.12

I followed this procedure exactly:

1. In Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features I noticed the application had installed this ancient 2017 version of the VC++ redistributable. I uninstalled it.

2. I saw the installed version of 2015-2022 VC++ had an update. I downloaded and installed the latest x64 version from Microsoft. Latest supported redistributable version.
It upgraded to this version.

3. I restarted my computer.

4. During the shut down phase of the reboot I unplugged the mouse.

5. During the POST/Boot phase I plugged in the mouse.

6. Upon entering Windows I Launched the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager application.

7. I clicked on the gear in the upper right corner with the orange dot indicating an update.

8. The application took me to the updates which still said the mouse needed updated.

9. I click the update button and this time there was an animation indicating it was flashing the firmware that wasn't previously shown. (This should have been a clue to Dell support that it was an application issue.)

Upon successful completion my mouse now showed the updated firmware version and the prompt to update it stopped.

I hope this helps someone else.

Dell Display and Peripheral Manager failed to update firmware of a device. Firmware update loop.

I recently purchased a Dell Pro Wired Mouse MS3220. Upon plugging it in it asked to install DDPM which I did. Upon loading the application said the firmware on the mouse needed updated. I thought I updated it but when the application returned after the update it said it still had the same update available.

I called Dell Support. After watching them repeat the same process over and over again without success, they finally said my PC was too old and put the case on hold. I knew this wasn't a valid statement.

Dell Display and Peripheral Manager is up to date.  It does NOT recognize the Dell Speakerphone with Multiport Adapter MH3012P.  It only recognizes the Dell Monitor.  I have repeatedly tried to add it - a wired connection - nothing happens.  I have tried many different ways - nothing.  Today via the Dell website manually downloaded the firmware update for the speaker - MH3021P-Firmware-Update-Utility_0P18D_WIN64_1.10.0.0_A10.EXE.  Still nothing.

I will try as above and see if that works.

My PC is a 2025 Dell Optiplex 7020 Small Form Factor Plus, Windows 11.

Regularly maintained and updates installed including Windows, Dell Command, Support Assist etc.

Today Dell Support could not assist.  The tech copied some log files to send up the line.  Likely is is a Peripheral manager application defect.

Thank you for any suggestions anyone might offer.

Cheers,

pt

@MS HelpOC

Update: Dell Pro Support escalated my query to Senior Techs re Dell Display and Peripheral Manager not recognizing and updating the Dell Speakerphone with Multiport Adapter MH3012P.  Bottom line, DDPM does not support the MH3012P Speakerphone.

It would be a benefit if Dell would update the DDPM app to recognize it.

Cheers,
