I think the latest version of DDPM has some issue.  Users should stay with previous working version.

The error message meant that DDPM installer only supports Windows 10 or later, the opposite of not supporting Windows 8.1 or earlier.

Yes, it looks like the error message is just stating that DDPM only works on Windows 10 and later. But if the latest version has issues, sticking to the previous working version seems like a good idea until it's fixed

Error: -1

I am on a OptiPlex XE3, (Windows 11)when opening the Dell Peripheral Manger application on version 1.7.7 it prompts me to download a new Critical Update version 2.0.0.72. When downloading/installing it gets to 50% then fails because of error -1.

@BeardedTechGuy same thing for me. I even re-installed Windows 11 thinking it was part of the insider edition I had installed that was interfering with it. So, that was fun.

Same thing over here. Installer package doesn't recognize windows version correctly and the update stalls at 50% with "-1" errors.

I humorously tried to install the Critical Update (2.0.0.72) again today, thinking maybe DELL would look into this.

...still broken.

I have the same problem. But no one from Dell would provide an explanation...

Try this and post your results =

* Open Windows 11 --> Settings --> Apps & Features
- Uninstall DPM (Dell Peripheral Manager)
- Uninstall DDM (Dell Display Manager)
* Restart the PC when done
* Install DDPM (Dell Display and Peripheral Manager) 2.0.1.16
* Restart the PC when done

@DELL-Chris M

What is the technical reason behind this compatibility list? Other than name, those versions are fundamentally identical. It makes no sense other than laziness.

@lucalunardi I do not have that answer. I can only link to the article that shows supported and non-supported.

I was having the same issue on Windows 10.

Fixed it by downloading old version v2.1.0.24 from here: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=672h5&oscode=wt64a&productcode=s2725qs-monitor

It worked and I was able to install and open the application, and then updated to latest version from within the app.

Hope it helps.
