Dell Command Update - not presenting the most recent BIOS
Today I ran Dell Command Update on approximately 100 Dell Latitude (many models: 7480, 7390, 7490, 7300, 5410, 7310, 5320, 7320).
Due to the critical (urgent) BIOS update realeased in march 2022, I scripted and scheduled dcu-cli.exe /applyUpdates to run today. All client computers have Dell Command Update 4.4.0. Some updated the BIOS, but only those who were way behind. So now all my Latitudes are running a BIOS released in sept21-feb22, but none were upgraded to the last version released in march22!
I have been digging around in the C:\programdata\dell\updateservice and my impression is that DCU downloads a file from dell.com, that is "computer model specific". For instance, the Latitude 5320 downloads "Latitude_0A1F.xml" and 5510 downloads "Latitude_09A1.xml". I've searched through these xml-files and they contain information about many earlier BIOS updates, but not the latest! For instance, the xml-file on the 5320 contains info on several BIOS updates up to 1.13.0, while the last BIOS available for download from dell.com/support is 1.16.0!
I've tried to uninstall/reinstall DCU, and running both the GUI version and the dcu-cli.exe. But they always claim that the computers are up-to-date. Well, they are not!
How can I use Dell Command Update to detect and install the latest BIOS updates?

Exactly the same problem.
Dell Command Update version 4.5.0... for Latitude 3520, is not finding the latest BIOS version 1.17.1, still 1.16.1 and thinks it's the latest version. Also other drivers are not up-to-date, when looking for drivers on the Dell Support website there are more current drivers to download.

Hi MZONDERL
My frustration was the 5320 model that was 6 months and 2 releases behind. Dell finally updated the Latitude_0A1F.xml and now the 1.17.2 is available via DCU for that model.
Patience seems to be the medicine for most here. It seems that Dell sometimes are very slow to update the files that DCU relies on to find the latest bios. You can find them in your folder: C:\ProgramData\Dell\UpdateService\Temp (search for BIOS in the Model_CODE.xml)
I don't know if that is because of "them not following routines" or if being slow is a part of a change management process. You mention 3520 and the 1.17.1 version. if that is a Latitude I can see that they have withdrawn the 1.17.1 and now released the 1.17.4. Perhaps they contained some "suboptimal" (or worse) code. So perhaps patience is a better option?
What have been and is still frustrating me a bit is that all these individual delays are not public, so one just have to wait or perhaps nag at Dell support. I don't know, but have sort of settled with that.

Not to my knowledge.
I also posted this question on Reddit and got some more response there : https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/tnhd4l/dell_command_update_not_detecting_latest_bios/
