Dell Command Update - Download Errors
Hi there,
Using Dell Command Update across multiple models. Downloads for Intel Xe / Iris/ UHD etc. graphics and Realtek audio seem to be failing on every model. Advanced driver store library download is also failing.
Are these known issues?

We have the same problem here. When we start the driver recovery in the Dell Command Update Tool, the download always stops after 22 MB.
Even when trying to download the latest update package manually, the download stops after 22 MB. But the file has a size of over 1 GB!
Example:
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER07672178M/1/Precision%205820%20Tower-win10-A14-M7P4G.CAB
Apparently Dell has server problems. Please fix as soon as possible!
Thanks.

Having the same problem when downloading CAB files. Download fails at 10-22MB for Windows 10. Trying Windows 11 it works just fine.

I second this issue, every download goes to about 22mb then cuts out, this is for every model. Is there an official channel to report this issue to? So far, it's persistent across all connections I've tred.

For anyone having this issue there is a temp workaround that got posted on Reddit by user St0neywall:
There is an issue with their downloading at the moment.
As a workaround, if you take the download URL and replace the beginning part "**download**" with "**dl**", it will work.

Seems to be better today on our new 5520s. Hopefully this has been resolved.

This is still an issue. I was able to work around the driver portion temporarily yesterday by downloading the driver CAB and pointing to it with the -driverLibraryLocation flag. Now today that doesn't even work.
According to the log it says "Failed to secure CAB/DUP"

From one of our technical support agents =
I did a test a few minutes ago and everything is working fine using Windows 10 & 11.
I used version 4.3.0 on my testing.
Which version are they using?
Which build of Windows 10?

In my case,
I tried DCU versions: 4.5.0 and 4.4.0
Windows Version: 10 Enterprise LTSC Build 1809
I ran it just now via dcu-cli.exe and still received the same error.
I have also had it fail on Windows 10 build 21H1 on multiple OptiPlex and Precision platforms.

This isn’t related to any DCU versions.
downloading any (large) file from downloads.dell.com fails. Changing the url to dl.dell.com does work.
trying to download files with any browser (edge / safari / chrome) or shell commands wget / invoke-webrequest all show the same problem, a +/- 20mb download and then aborts.
This has to be a network related problem at dell’s side.

As an update, I just tried to use DCU version 4.3.0, as the technician did, and when executing using dcu-cli.exe with the /applyUpdates flag, the first thing command update does is update itself to 4.5.0 which then produces the same error when trying to download the driver package.
If you execute DCU 4.3.0 with only the /driverInstall flag output says it's downloading the driver pack but never actually does.

As far as I know this is purely a website issue.
Download Link:
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER07337155M/1/5590-win10-A16-G3G44.CAB
download the driver pack at this link and it will go to about 22MB and cancel the download (Supposed to be 1gb)
But if you take the same link, but make it:
https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER07337155M/1/5590-win10-A16-G3G44.CAB
Issue goes away and file downloads correctly. We're just reporting it so it can be given to the proper channels and fixed.
It's like this with every driver at https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000124139/dell-command-deploy-driver-packs-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment
