Can you downgrade windows 11 home to windows 10 pro on 8950?
I ordered an 8950 (i7 12700 32gb ram) and it's being shipped with windows 11 home. My question is can l delete windows 11 home and put windows 10 pro without issues or are the drivers and software for this pc only optimized only for windows 11?

@Robopoo I think it will work but I suggest you read this: https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8950-fresh-Install-of-Windows-10-Pro/m-p/8120786

I know it will accept Windows 10 but my concern is would I be giving up performance?

You may also have to purchase a license for Win 10 Pro from Microsoft because a Win 11 Home product key (embedded on PC's motherboard) won't activate a Pro installation of Win 11 or Win 10.

@Robopoo I think the answer is yes, but the amount depends on the apps you are using. Because the 12th gen Intel CPUs have performance and efficient cores that Windows 11 can take advantage of, you will probably see a degradation in performance by switching to Windows 10. Dell Support won't help you with this.
You'll have to go to the Microsoft store to purchase the new Win 10 Pro product key and then do a clean install of Win 10 Pro. It will get activated when you log into your Microsoft account again after the installation.
I'd image the boot drive while it still has Win 11 Home on it, to be safe.
And if you later decide you really do want Win 11, your Win 10 Pro product key should activate a free in-place update to Win 11 Pro, eg when Microsoft stops supporting Win 10 on 14-Oct'25...

Im not asking Dell support to help or obtain Windows 10, I want them to tell me if this new 8950 will have driver issues if I use an older OS(Windows 10).

I think you are better off staying with Windows-11. Like you said ... full driver support for all the nice new hardware and devices in your new machine.
May I ask why you want to go back to old Windows-10?
Finally, I think @RoHe is correct ... while Windows-11 Pro MIGHT allow it, I'm pretty sure Windows-11 HOME does not have downgrade rights to Windows-10.

I was referring to do a clean install of Windows 10 not really downgrade, I should have chosen better words sorry. The interface of 11 is not to my liking at all. The copy/Paste is my number 1 peeve. Also, many of the features in windows 10 are not in windows 11.

1. Well yeah, you will definitely have to clean-install. But if you want the key (burned into the motherboard) to work and Activate ... that's "downgrade rights" in action.
2. Well, you know ... you can move the Start-Menu back to the left-corner.
There is a Registry hack to make the right-click menu full (or Windows-10 like). I use it.
3. Like what? You have to compare Pro to Pro. If you want Windows-11 Pro, just use the Anytime-Upgrade to upgrade to Pro (I don't think it is even that much money).

Sure. Here you go:

Note: Works for me with Windows-11 Pro 64-bit v.21H2
