Alienware Command Center cannot be installed - Error during AWCC_Core installation step.

Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition

Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition

I`ve been having issues with my original installation of Alienware Command Center, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall it.

But i've met a problem, during the installation step of "AWCC_Core", the wizard suddently stops and the installation fails.

I dont't know what to do anymore, I followed the steps of this post (Solved: Re: AWCC cannot update nor install - Dell Community), but it still doesn't work...

@vinny1998 and @Saltgrass , thanks for your feedback.

I just checked this site:

https://www.dell.com/support/

After browsing, I found the March 2022 version but I can't use it because that specific version is not compatible with an Alienware x17 R1.

Yeah, I get support for this laptop, I paid for premium support. They basically tried a few things and said there is nothing we can do and we have to wait until the August end of month update comes through. They said this is a known issue.

But, in other cases, support tells me incorrect things then I resolve the issue myself through online help so I don't always trust them.

I was checking my system yesterday and noticed an entry for AWCC in the Device Manager that was showing with a yellow bang, which means it did not have a driver.  There was another one which was normal so I deleted the bad one.

I believe it was in the System devices section but not sure.

Hi @vinny1998 , this is happening to me as well. I contacted Dell support today, they let me know that the most recent release of Alienceware Command Centre is faulty and we have to wait for the update by approximately end of month. Until then, there is not much to do.

I'm not sure if there are work arounds or something, have you had any luck with this at all? I'm still stuch on the installation error.

Yeah I did that. But unfortunately it didn't work as well.

The solution that I came up with was installing an older version of the software (April 2022). But with limited features.

Can you please share a link where you found the April 2022 version? Or let me know where to find it? I'm stuck here.

@zero_js If you have an Alienware computer, it should be on that page.  If you only have an accessory, like a mouse, you can look at that support site.

You can get to a Dell support site for your device?  You can usually search online and one link may be for the Dell support site.

Hey man! Well, I find a way to install AWCC, but it's the version of April of this year.

It doesn't have all the functionalities, but I can analyze the temperature and activate G mode now.

@vinny1998 , okay so that installed pretty fast and now my AW CC is back online. I'm circling back to the same problem, my keyboard is not lighting up still. Which is the original problem that made me and support delete my AW CC to reinstall it.

Any idea why my keyboard is not lighting up? All other lights are responding except the keyboard, even though in AW FX I have it turned on.

This is how I fixed mine too.  My latest version some how got corrupted and Alienware FX stopped working.  I uninstalled AW CC and couldn't re-install.  The wizard kept crashing when installing the AWCC_Core component.  Installed the April version and now back up and running.

I can't get this garbage to work. Are you still having trouble?

Did you got the solution for that?

I am also having the same trouble.

Can't even get the G mode to work.

Hey @AlienwareOwner , well yes and no. I had to uninstall both Alienware Command Center and the Alienware OC Controls.

I had to restore the notebook factory default , and the fabric installed version of the driver works pretty well. I had some bugs but nothing that worried me.
