2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031445)

Have any of you with an 8930 or other installed this optional update?  Any problems?

I don't have an 8930 but installed that update last month with no problems. And in fact there was another update after that one (KB4023057) that was issued this week which also gave me no problems.

@mfurr

Indeed, I did have a problem with this update hanging at 94% complete and then rolling back because "Something didn't go as planned" on my 8930 running Windows 11 Pro 22H2.

The issue for me was resolved by disabling Malwarebytes Premium and stopping it from starting with Windows in the Settings, Security.  This problem has been reported on Bleeping Computer, ElevenForum, and the Malwarebytes for Windows Forum.

This update, which was a "preview" update, is a requisite for the upgrade of Windows 11 to 23H2, but Windows 11 might have fixed the problem by the time it is RTM on the upcoming "Patch Tuesday."  The KB # is the same for both Windows 10 and 11.

Good luck.  Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

@garioch7 I like Malwarebytes but sometimes it drives me crazy. I dropped the addon extension for the browser because it wanted to prevent access to perfectly normal sites.

@JOcean

I have had a "love-hate" relationship myself with Malwarebytes Browser Guard.  For now, it is added to my browsers on my two computers.  It can be overly aggressive, and sometimes it won't let you override its blocked sites.  That's when I ditch it or disable it, but overall, I consider it to be a worthwhile browser security enhancement.  It is all a personal choice.

Have a great day.

Phil

Well thanks for the replies.  I let it go ahead and install and had no problems with it.
