Vm migration between vcenter
Hello, we are facing this scenario hope you can help us.
cluster 1: vcenter cluster 6.7, their esxi hosts are AMD CPU and VNX as storage.
cluster 2: new Vxrail cluster 7.0.200 all host with Intel CPU and Vsan.
We need to migrate all vms from cluster 1 to cluster 2, we are planning to use the Cross Vcenter workload migration utility (java) to migrate the vms from one vcenter to other, Vmotion network is the same on both clusters.
My question is the migration must be done with the VMs powered off (cold migration) cause the CPU change (AMD to Intel) or could be done powered on (hot migration) ???

Hello.
Check VMware KB:1011788(https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1011788)
You cannot Live Migration(hot migration) between the difference CPU manufacturer(Intel and AMD).
You must migrate with powered off the VMs.
