Vworkspace Multi Tenant?
As the title suggests, this is the first time I will run into the situation where we will have some internal "shared resources" - such as the profile manager, connection broker, and web interfaces - We would prefer to have this in one domain (no trust between the actual VDI members and the shared resources" - In the old days we called this Multi Tenant - is this plausible?

I would like to know that to. I am working on a setup in which Multi Tenancy is an requirement
I would like to put all the Shared services in one domain and create multiple domains for different locations\sites.
I also want one domain which is shared by different customers. I can't find the answer in the documentation.

I am running a hosting environment with vworkspace...
all services on the hosting site are under a single forest single domain. All users login with UPN (email addresses) for their email and only BES and the app portal for MAC requires the SamAccountName and our domain..everything else looks to the user like their company...
a hell of alot of work to get setup, but it works well...
now if only the MAC client allowed the config download

Mark,
Thank you for your reply. Do you have any experience with two domain. One for the Infrastructure servers and one for the desktops.
In that way I can create different security boundaries.
What do you use for user management do you have a custommer self service portal?

if you are going to have Subdomains of a single forest, it doesn't make much sense in my opinion since I never expose the "Domain" to the users. Since all users login with their Email address (email1@domain1.com) and email2@domain2.com they rarely ever see the trie domain name.
Having a resource forest can also get complicated as well with email delegation.
No customer self service portal....manual configuration...

Mark,
Thanks for the info. I think I am going the leave my idea of using multiple domains. This leave me some time to look for a self service portal.

Hi Mark,
Just to make this discussion complete. We managed to create a forrest with multiple sub domains. This way we can create a shared Workspace infrastructure layer, but have the flexibility to create subdomain where custommers have there own AD recuirements for example CRM or Exchange. It was quite a battle to get where we are now but it works like a charm.
We also managed to alter the web logon page so that the user can logon with his/her UPN.
The iPad client does not disable the domain box when there is a @ sign in the login name. But we reported this at Quest and the told us that it will be added as a feature request. So hope fully that will be in the 1.1.1 version of the App.

Adam,
To answer your question "is it possible to share the vWorkspace roles and recources in one domain?" Yes that is possible.
