vWorkspace installation issue
Hi there,
We just installed a standalone trial version of vworkspace on a windows 2008R2. One main issue we run into is that we can no longer RDP into the windows box. We have checked the windows firewall and Windows remote desktop settings.
Is there something in vworkspace that could be causing the issue??

Hello Mark,
Are there any other issues that you are aware of other than the inability to remote connect to the server, was the vWorkspace installation successful?
Was the server already seutup as an RDSH (Terminal Server) role?
Did you install the vWorkspace Terminal Server Role during the installation?
Are you able to try an RDP connection to the server, but specifying the port 3390, so servername:3390 in the connection details. It is possible that something was not correctly set when installing.

David,
Port 3390 did the job. What do you think could have caused the issue?? Is that normal??

Other issues we are facing since the installation of the trial version, is the ability to launch the application from the My Applications window. If for example we run the microsoft word icon published in My applications it says it cant find the broker and if we click on another application it says it cant find the terminal server.

The Server was configured with the basic Remote desktop settings from the WIndows server Roles menu.

I cant remember.. I just installed the default options.. Is there a way to check??

Hi Mark,
If you do a vWorkspace simple install on to a TS/RDSH host, the vWorkspace install will move the RDP listener to port 3390 but NOT install the EOP xtream service which uses port 3389 and then passes the re-assembled RDP stream to the RDP (termserv) listener. The simple install is intended to install all the pieces for a POC/Pilot except the TS/RDSH parts.
Set the RDP port back to 3389 (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Winstations\RDP-TCP, Portnumber), reboot and then uninsta install (Advanced Install) the terminal server / rd session host role.

Rick
