Virtual IP Definition

Hi ,

Some one can explainme exactly what is Virtual IP, as i can see I can use virtual IP to secure different application on differente places.

I mean, If my user is on a Public Internet, I have access to some application, but If I connect to my office internet I will have another applications.

Thats correct ?
