Server stuck at welcome screen
I have just installed vWorkspace to a 2008 R2 server and it is stuck at the welcome screen. I am unable to communicate with the server in any way (no ping). I can see the server from the KVM, though I dont have control to the power.
Existing vWorkspace install is 7.2 MR1 (Broker & other terminals), this server currently only has 7.2 as it is stuck after the install restart. I am approx 1.5hrs away from the server and its looks like I will have to go to site to restart the server.
Does anyone have any ideas why this has occurred. This has never happened before.
Note: This server has had vWorkspace installed prevously without the Welcome Screen Lock Issue. Though we have been unable to get EOP to work (works fine on other Terminal Servers). I had deleted and created a new RD Host Connection, restarted, then installed vWorkspace 7.2.
Hope to hear from you.
Cheers

Hi Matt,
This is not an issue I have heard of before, do you think the server is stuck on the wlecome screen or could it be that you have lost connection and this is the last image to be displayed?
You say you have connection via a KVM, are you able to interact with the server at all?
Could you issue a shutdown -r via a command window as this would restart the server.
Best Regards
David

Do you have AppV installed?

AppV can cause this.

Sorry for the short posts earlier, we had some trouble posting anything longer than a few bits. Aha, the communities are finally letting me post again.
OK, we've seen this issue with VDIs when the AppV client is installed. The first thing I'd want to check is that you're installing the vWorkspaceTerminal Server/RDS Components and not just PNTools.
Do you have the AppV client installed too? There used to be a conflict with userinit order and AppV and vWorkspace but this should only be a problem with PNTools really, not the TS role.
Thanks.

Thanks Andrew & David for your replies. I now do not believe this to be a vWorkspace issue, rather one related to other software on the system. (I made the post after ready this issue has affected Citrix install in the past)
FYI - We do not have AppV installed.
Thanks again.

Thanks David,
The KVM was still showing the screen, you could still see the welcome
ring rotating. You could move the mouse around the screen, though
nothing else. Due to no network activity I could not issue a shutdown -r
command. A hard reset was required.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for letting us know, I hope you now have vworkspace installed and running happily on the server.
