Quota Defination for MetaProfiles users
Hello,
I have very strange requirement and i am not sure if this can be managed from vWorkspace. we have users configured with MetaProfile and i wanted to restrict them up to 2 GB Max for usage on my file server, is there any option from Server side which can put such restriction and any way to monitor it?
I really need this option as it will make my work smooth and easy manageability.
thanks in advance for help/ guidance.

Hello Mohit,
There is no quota management options available that could be managed through the vWorkspace console, however, you could meet your requirements using Windows Server Disk Quotas.
I assume that your users are configured to have a home drive location where they can store documents/data, you could manage these locations using the Windows Server Disk Quotas or other third-party software. With Disk Quota management in Windows 2008 you can configure warnings and email notifications and enforce either hard or soft quota limits.
This would not be managed by our MetaProfiles but could be implemented in conjuction with them to capture the profile settings for the users.
I hope this helps

As David points out it is recommend to store the my documents folder on a file server via folder redirection.
The User Profile management feature of vWorkspace should not be used to manage folders like these. Even though this is technically possible, you have to consider that this would potentially lead to a 2GB copy on each login which would probably be slow for a lot of users…
