Question of vWorkspace User Profile Management

Good day to you! Would like to get some understanding on this module of vWorkspace. So, I understand that during a log on or log off of a session, the client agent would send or retrieve compressed user data from the storage server. Question is, does the logon/logoff process waits for this sync process to complete? Or does the logon/logoff process just execute as per normal while the agent works behind the scene to get all the user data sync over to the storage server? Other than that, how does this module compares with Citrix Profile Management?
