Publish List of URLs using the config.xml file
I have installed the Hotfix SOL80722. I want to use the Config.XML file to publish the URLCapture entries. Unfortuantely I can not get the pnap32 to read the URLCapture entries added to the end (placed after the "LOCATION" tags of the Config.XML file. If I place the entry above the "LOCATION" tags, pnap32 will not load the "LOCATION" settings".
The version of the pnap32.exe is V7.2.303.474.

Hello Chris,
When modifying your config.xml file did you copy the new strings from the PDF file that was included with SOL80722?
If so then I assume you are getting an error that states 'A string literal was expected, but no opening quote character was found.'
I also encountered this error but have now found the problem, when copying the string from the PDF the " (quote) character does not apply correctly and this produces the error when importing the file.
To correct this delete the 4 " characters per line and then retype them on your keyboard. After this the file should import correctly.
See below example showing how the character is copied and then the corrected entry:
I hope this helps but let me know if this was not your problem

David

David,
I am well aware about the issues of copying double quotes from PDF files. I can confirm that I am using the correct quotes.
The problem is I get no errors, and it will not import the values. If you place the entries above the LOCATION tag the location details are not loaded and you get an error when configuring a farm entry.

Hello Chris,
Are you able to import the config.xml without the additional string(s) for URLCapture, or does this produce the same error?
I have gone back to my config.xml file and place the URLCapture string both before and fater the location section, I can import the file without error and also see the registry keys created on the client.
When you get the problem with missing location details have you provided any user credentials, what happens if you authenticate does it then succeed?

David

Chris,
I think I just replicated your issue, when importing the config.xml file with the URLCapture string it says 'At least one location in farm [Farm#] must have a TCP Port and Server(s) Specified.' This does not happen if the URLCapture string is not part of the file.
When you see this message, click OK. Then select the credentials tab and provide valid user credentials, after this select the Auto-Launch tab and click Finish, the import will succeed.
Can you let me know if this works for you?

David,
Can I suggest that you add an extra comment into the resolution. It is important that you place the URLCapture entries below the LOCATION tags.

David,
Do you know why I can not post a valid response. I keep getting the warning “You may not post this message on the Quest Communities”

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comments, I will update the solution to include this.
Regards
David
P.S. Is it just this thread for which you are having trouble posting a response?
I too had that on this thread the other day, it is not affecting other community threads.

David,
I am not sure if it is affecting other threads as this is the only thread that I have open.
