Packaging up the VAS Client using ThinApp

Hi,

We've set up our user base to access our VDI (externally) using a ThinApp package comprising:

vWorkspace 6.1 VASClient (Web)

Firefox 3.6.4

This has worked well.

To (hopefully) take advantage of the newer features now available in the latest releases we've been trying to package up the 7.2 vWorkspace VASClient, but have not had a great deal of success.

It appears that trying to package anything newer than 6.1 fails. I've tried 6.2, 7.1, 7.1 MR1, 7.2. They all die in much the same way: When PNTSC.exe is launched from the Web Portal, it throws an exception and closes.

Has anyone attempted anything like this? And if so, do you have any advice on it?

Regards

-Ralph

Hi Ralph,

The is an updated U3 client in 7.2 that works standalone that you might like to try.

The 7.X clients have a dependency on the RDP engine so you'll have to include mstscax.dll (6.1) and there is also a dependency on .Net, which means the virtualized client will probably fail on most thin clients (XPe/WES) unless you install .Net.

regards,

Rick
