Non windows vWorkspace Connector via Config.xml

Hi,

I have configure config.xml for android connector access to my farm. From vWokspace android app, i'm able to download config.xml file and load my farm setting. But everytime i try to connect to my farm i'm getting error ' There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" which i believe authentication issue with domain controller.

i have put my domain correctly and i also have no issue while accessing my web access page(external). Any step i'm missing here?

Thank You

Hi Whosen,

When using the AppPortal you can easily setup both an Internal as well as External connection setting, however for Mobile devices like Tablets and Smartphones it's probably easiest to simply set up the connection as via External to make things easier.

If you are using vWorkspace 8.5 you can now setup dynamic config.xml settings depending on the device OS and a number of other variables, you can read more about this in detail about the Connector Management overview at [View:documents.software.dell.com/DOC262859:550:0].

Hopefully this helps?

Cheers,

Hi Dave,

Thanks for you fast response.

1) I'm able to login to to vWorkspace via AppPortal

2) I have installeed vWorkspace connector for android.

Fyi, i can connect to my farm using my android device if i'm using company Wifi(internal). Issue now is i'm not able to access from external (internet). I can access my vWorkspace web access from external (internet) with no issue.

i have forward my config.xml file to your email.

Thank You

Hi Whosen,

This error message does generally indicate that the system is not available - in fact I have seen similar after our Lab has been shutdown for maintenance, etc.

To help isolate where the issue is could I just check some details:

Are you able to login to vWorkspace via the AppPortal?

Have you installed the vWorkspace connector for Android?

Can you send me a copy of the config.xml to david_caddick@dell.com and I will review this for you

I hope this helps?

Hi Whosen,

Can I ask how you created the Config.xml in the first place? Normally it can simply be generated from a working instance of AppPortal and in this case I wonder if you were using it Internally at the time?

If you review your config.xml it appears that you are using the SSL Gateway - and yet the port being referenced is 8080 - perhaps this should be changed to 443? ;-)

Could you please check and let us know how you get on?
Thanks in advance

Hi Dave,

Yes, i'm creating config.xml via AppPortal and from internal. This is becuase i'm using this config to both internal and external connection.

i have set seamles autologin for internal thin client user so their RDSH application will be available on desktop whenever they login into VDI.

Do i need to create separate config file for internal and external connection?

Thank You,

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your advise and now i'm able to to connect and launch my application from Android and IOS device. I have create another config.xml file for external connection and place it in different directory on my web server. In my 2nd config file, i put my web address in connection broker using port 443. Ticked option RDP over SSL and put my SSL Gateway server ( which is my web server address) in Firewall/Proxy Traversal.

Thats the only change i made on my new config file then it just works after i try to connect using my new config file. Thanks for your very helpfull suggestion  and i really appreciate it.

Cheers!
