New Installation - Error trying to connect to an Existing DB

Hi,

I'm trying to create a vWorkspace lab environment and I would like to link the installation to an Existing SQL server. Whenever I select connect to Existing database or connect to an Existing database server and create the database I'm getting an error cannot connect to SQL server.

I've created the database manually in the SQL server and connect to it using ODBC and I was able to connect to this DB. I've created pnadmin account and provided full DB permission and db owner, but I'm unable to connect to the DB using the vWorkspace installation.

Any help?

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm sure all these details are correct and still getting this error;

pnadmin has all the permission require as a user and on the DB level which I have compared with our production setup...

Appreciate your help on this.

Thanks,

Hello,

Just used a workaround to this issue, selected the last option (Do Noting) Then, rebooted the server and launched the vWorkspace Console, it prompt me for the DB Server, I have supplied the same parameters and it picked up the DB Name correctly.

The only thing I see which prevents me from selecting/pointing to the DB Server during the installation wizard may i was running the installation from a remote shares... perhaps / or may be the TNS version of the ODBC is launching the 64bit by default and vWorkspace works only with 32bit TNS ODBC.

Will continue the installation and hopefully no issues...
