MetaProfile-IT is not working

Hello,

I am setting up Metaporfile-IT for users connecting from remote location to vWorkspace 7.1 MR1 with 2 Terminal Server on Windows 2008R2 and following the Install Guide. Now i am facing multiple issues with it. what i did so far to configure it is

1- Created a Mandatory Profile, with permissions to 'Authenticated Users' on that profile and folder name is renamed to Mandatory.MAN to make it read-only

2- Placed the mandatory profile on %systemroot% and provided same path in Remote Desktop Profile path as '%systemroot%\mandatory.MAN'

3- Created SILO and added both Terminal Server to it.

4- Created a location on MetaProfile-IT server which is configured in SILO

Now when i login to any of the terminal server via vWorkspace i got error "User Profile Service Sevice Failed the Logon, Profile can not be loaded" and it log off the user session.

As Per the Guide i must not use UNC path for mandatory Profile, but my doubt is which pulling mandatory Profile , it is looking in AD system root for profile rather then of terminal server.

Please advice if am wrong and let me know the correct steps.

Thanks ,

Hi Mohit,

I would think that you also configured the metaprofiles storage server. Are there any errors in the event log (application) on the RDSH servers?

ON the RDSH server, you can get additional error information by creating the following registry value:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Provision Networks\MetaProfile Manager\, TraceLog, Reg_SZ, location and name or log file (eg c:\temp\metaprofile.log)

On the Metaprofiles server:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Provision Networks\MetaProfile Manager\, MPNPLog, Reg_SZ, location and name or log file (eg c:\temp\metaprofile.log)

MetaProfiles will also log to Event Viewer.

That should provide enough additional information to help find out what isn't working.

regards,

Rick
